Worked in an international team across three time zones to research innovation and key challenges in the road industry, including labour shortages, COVID-19 impacts, and smart infrastructure opportunities. Contributed to a 45 page report, 15 minute presentation, and project video, while developing leadership, presentation, and cross cultural collaboration skills.

About
This collaborative research project, conducted with Austroads and CPEE, explored how innovation and strategic change could address current challenges within the road industry. The study examined the economic significance of road infrastructure, the growing skilled labour shortage, the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and opportunities for digital innovation, smart city integration, and advanced road engineering technologies. Working within an international virtual team across multiple time zones, the project aimed to challenge traditional industry approaches and identify practical strategies to improve resilience and future readiness.

During the course of the program, I developed more confidence in taking leadership roles, being able to think about new and innovative solutions, more confidence in conveying my ideas and thoughts, greatly increased my skills in presenting since I played a major role in both the Video and the Presentation and, developed intercultural intelligence as I worked with a team of students from the UK, Malaysia and Australia spanning across many cultures.
